Project Heart will not appear overnight. We grow in phases, from getting to know the land through the first facilities to the eco-centre of our vision. Here you can see what is done, what we are working on and what lies ahead.
It all starts with the land. The plot in Rokytno went through land consolidation and the new boundaries were entered in the cadastre.
Our own water from a well and a place for tools. The basic facilities without which no work on the land is possible.
An Advanced Permaculture Design Course took place on the land. It produced a concept, a design study of the whole eco-centre, 3D visualisations and an action plan.
Phase one of the action plan: so that people can gather on the land for work days, courses and meetings.
Phase two of the action plan: bringing life back to the meadow. Perches for birds of prey, an edible hedge, wildlife shelters and green manure.
Phase three of the action plan: a field kitchen, a round building and a first place to stay overnight.
The long-term goal: a place for family, community, courses, horses and guests. The Vision section describes it in detail.
What has happened on the land, newest first
The participants, led by Adéla Hrubá, DAPD, worked right on the land. They produced a concept, a planting strip, a design study with 3D visualisations and a three-phase action plan.
The course took place on the land and produced a design for the whole eco-centre and an action plan.
We have the results of the well water analysis.
We ordered a used 20-foot shipping container to serve as a shed.
Another round of measurements and a drone view of the land in full spring green.
We chose where the well and the tool shed will be.
We signed the power of attorney and the well paperwork got going.
We dug our first soil pit and measured the soil layers.
The thermal camera showed where the cold lingers and where the land is warmest.
We agreed on what to observe over the year: sun and shade, temperature, water, soil, wind, animals and plants.
We walked the land and photographed it with a drone for the first time.
